What I ate:
Carciofo alla romana
Roasted prawns
Ravioli Special

The occasion: Ninth wedding anniversary

My husband chose this restaurant. Before going I went to website to do some sleuthing.
The style of food blends flavors and traditions from Italy, Spain and Portugal. The chef
uses naturally sourced and free-range meats. Their pasta is made daily and the fruits
and produce come from local organic famers. With such high quality ingredients I was
sure that the meal was going to be amazing.

The upstairs space is very cozy. While we waited for our table I savored a glass of
prosecco. Shortly there after we were seated. Olives and crusty bread were brought to
the table. Carciofo alla romana (roman style artichokes) are one of my favorite ways
to enjoy artichokes. These were braised to perfection and served with a bit of olive
oil, mint and garlic. Whole prawns are another of my favorites and really reminiscent
of my childhood. These were roasted and lightly sprinkled with fleur de sel. I enjoyed
each prawn in it’s entirety! I had enjoyed the appetizers so much that I forgot the main
course was still to come. The homemade ravioli of the day was filled with red snapper,
sundried tomatoes, grilled capers and parsley. Just fantastic! I was so thrilled with
the meal and my choices. The food was sophisticated without pretense. Beautifully
presented and well done. I will return to Convivium time and time again.
