The food all tasted quite fresh and used a lot of fresh vegetables and herbs. I often remind my clients to use fresh herbs for added flavor and I really like to see this done at restaurants. The menu includes a myriad of fresh vegetable dishes and lean meats. My only wish is that they offered more whole grain starch options, but it is otherwise a great choice for a fresh and delicious meal out.I came to Anita’s Kitchen for an early dinner with my husband and son. I love Lebanese food and since I spotted this restaurant a few months ago, I have been eager to try it. We chose to sit on the outdoor patio. The menu offered a great variety of foods at reasonable prices. I started with our servers’ recommendation of the chic pea salad. This was a hearty dish of chic peas with cracked wheat and herbs. Though I did not ask, it seemed to be dressed very lightly with olive oil and red wine vinegar. It was a large portion so I finished about a third and shared some with my husband and son. Instead of one of the main plates, all of which looked delicious, I decided on a pita pizza, which immediately grabbed my attention. Pita pizzas, like English muffin pizzas are always reminiscent of childhood and once I noticed it, I could not pass it up. It was better than I anticipated and I surprised myself by eating ¾ of the pizza. The pita was toasted and crispy with a large portion of flavorful spinach and a nice topping of melted cheese. I was disappointed that the pita was not whole wheat but white flour is only an occasional splurge for me, as is pizza, so I enjoyed every bite!
