What I ate:
Simple Green Salade: Mesclun greens, black truffle vinaigrette
Poisson du Jour: Tuna over a celeriac puree with a light red sauce
Sancerre

The occasion: Time with the husband while the kidoole is with the Grandmas!

We had a plan. Stash the boy with the Grandmas in Boston and head to Cambridge (where I grew up) for 24 hours uninterrupted hours together! We arrived in Cambridge and checked into the Charles Hotel. With 20 hours to go we had plans for movie, dinner and sleep and not in that order. After a mid-day nap, pure luxury we went to the movies. After the movies we walked around trying to find a place to eat.

We happened upon Sandrine’s A Bistro. The menu looked good and the ambiance was perfect. So we got a table by the window and scoured the menu. My husband, who is Swiss-German was so excited that we were in an Alsace restaurant! This is my food he said. The salad was light as it should be. The Tuna arrived and I was not convinced I would be a fan based on its look but I was pleasantly surprised. The combination of the celeriac puree, red sauce and tuna provided a rich mouth feel with deep flavor. I savored the combination until surprisingly I had devoured the whole plate! It was quite filling so there was no room for dessert. I  then decided to have a glass of Sancerre which was light and crisp.  We would love to visit Sandrine’s the next time we are in Harvard Square!
