Ahhh, I have finally found the perfect outlet to write about my dining experiences as a dietitian! For my clients, friends, fans, and family, who endlessly ask about my food adventures –look no further!
But first, let me introduce myself: I am Laura Walker. I am a Registered Dietitian, with a Masters in Clinical Nutrition. I am originally from New York, and am currently working at a public hospital in Queens as a Clinical Dietitian. Outside the hospital, I am busy counseling clients privately.
I am definitely the dietitian who takes lots of pictures, circles and underlines in text books, and asks endless questions. I love to eat, talk, watch, and analyze- sometimes all at once, sometimes in different orders, but with no doubt I love the experience of a well-rounded meal with great company.
The complex relationship between food and body keeps me constantly engaged and passionate about Nutrition. To me, Nutrition is the perfect science! Nutrition involves psychology, physiology, politics, chemistry, history…and so much more. I believe that a healthy life is created from the core- and that one’s relationship with food is just as important as the food itself. It is all about finding the right balance!
