FAQ

Question: I am a dietitian and would like to write for Dine-out Dietitian

Answer:  Sure!  We love new contributors.  Please email info@dineoutdietitian.com with your name, location and current ADA number and we will get back to you about opportunities in your area.  If you have RDE status (having already completed your internship), this is fine as well, just let us know!

Question:  I am not a dietitian but would like to write for Dine-out Dietitian.  Can I contribute?

Answer:  We would love your comments and welcome restaurant recommendations, but our contributors are exclusively registered dietitians.

Question: I am a restaurant owner/manager and think our restaurant would be a great fit for your website.

Answer: Great.  Please email info@dineoutdietitian.com with your contact information and we will be in touch.  We only write reviews of restaurants that offer healthful options so as long as your restaurant meets our criteria, we would love to feature it on our site.

Question: I am looking for a dietitian to help with my personal meal planning, can you help?

Answer:  Please visit the American Dietetic Association website at www.eatright.org to find a dietitian in your area.  Many or our contributors also have private practices so, feel free to contact these individuals if they live in your area.

Question: What are your criteria for a healthy restaurant?

Answer:  That is the best part of this website. The basic criteria are: natural, whole, unprocessed foods featuring healthier choices.  We are all dietitians, so we understand the importance of balance and healthy eating.  However, we all have different tastes and opinions of what is most important to us.  You will find that some of our contributors prefer eating vegetarian food while others emphasize locally grown foods and humanely raised meats.  You will even find splurges and sweets, but perhaps in smaller portions or using natural ingredients!  This is not a diet plan.  Eating predominantly homemade foods is best when trying to follow a healthy diet.  But, eating out if fun and, in moderation, can be part of a healthy lifestyle.  This site will help guide you to healthier options in your community or narrow down choices if you are traveling and would like good recommendations!
